"Probably brilliant..."

... but i just didn't get it.

I found the gameplay tedious.

I'm sure if i invested sufficient time into mastering the controls i'd find this perfectly enjoyable, however, i don't frequent Newgrounds to master games, i do so for light relief, i have plenty of 'hardcore' games on my computer already.

Anyway's, i'm intrigued as to what you'll do next. hopefully something i can get my teeth into.

"Not Bad"

submission: Scribbland
date: December 7, 2009

Seems well made and functional.

Unfortunately it wasn't for me, i found the controls irritating and the gameplay somewhat monotonous (once you take into account my continuous dying and restarting of levels), obviously i'm not your target audience.

However, i salute you for trying something a little 'out there', it's always pleasant to see on Newgrounds, good luck in the future. :D

Infectonator!

"Brilliant"

-1 because it doesn't have a sandbox mode, or at least an option to continue after submitting the highscore.

And i never give 10's anyway, but this was hilarious :D

Level Up!

"Brilliant"

My only complaints were that the radar was a little difficult to read at times, for me it normally flew across the screen at lightning speed and i had to guess whether it was going to the nearest orb or had just come from it.

On the demo for the sequel, i managed to get stuck, i ran into the portal temple, jumped off a ledge and 'the hero' climbed onto a statue/head thing and got himself trapped between the statue/head and the roof of the chamber.

Other than that, i thought this game was marvelous.

And i loved the ending, it kinda turned everything else on it's head :D

Can't wait for the sequel ^^

Saucer Strike

"A Enjoyable Little Timewaster"

submission: Saucer Strike
date: November 9, 2009

Graphically adequate, nothing too fancy, but everything was clear and easily identifiable.

I could perhaps suggest moving the abilities to the keyboard, as there were times when i'd find myself flying half the length of the level in an instant because my cursor was right of centre when i released the spacebar, other than that, the controls were great.

As a suggestion for development of this game, all that springs to mind is bosses really.

An idea that popped into my mind was rival aliens (actually my idea involved changing the aliens to sorcerors but keeping the future/near future setting).

Players would have to race against these rivals so as to acquire more power before their enemy overwhelmed them.

You could perhaps also add defending champions, who would be weaker than the rivals, but would have the advantage of being supported by the native defenders, and would also start off fully powered (or perhaps they could gradually increase in power so as not to overwhelm you the moment the battle begins)

Maybe you could even add multiplayer, with players facing each other, decimating civilisations so as to increase their power enough to steamroll their opponent.

My final though would be to add a progression system, perhaps let the player gain access to different ships, or wingmen, or alternate weapon systems.

Other than that, well done, there's depressingly few games on here that pique my interest enough to steal more than a few moments of my time.

Dragon Boy

"Good Game"

submission: Dragon Boy

Unfortunately an advert by Game Squat in your pre-loader renders the game virtually unplayable, by making the mouse cursor invisible, meaning that you have absolutely no idea which way you're going to attack when you click the mouse, it also makes selecting objects in your inventory incredibly difficult.

I'm hoping it's just me encountering this problem, since this game seems pretty good, and it'd be a shame if a stupid interactive advert renders it unplayable to everyone.

Sniper : Year Two

"Pretty Good"

submission: Sniper : Year Two
date: October 26, 2009

Kinda short though.

Nice little time waster, and an improvement over year one (despite my preference for the brunette over the blonde)

The problem with these types of games is the fact that, despite the tactical element of having to take out guards, cameras and terrain objects in particular orders, there's not all that much to actually do.

The only way i can see you making year three (assuming you make it, in which case might i propose you find a hot red-head for it, since you've already had a blonde and a brunette ;)... ) a longer experience would be to have the player carrying out their own research on the mark.

Or perhaps selecting their own vantage points for operations, each point having it's own particular strengths and weaknesses.

Or let the player kit out their sniper before missions, able to select different types of scopes, ammunition, weapons and intelligence gathering equipment (heart monitors, computer hackers, etc...)

Or even (though this would perhaps change the format of the game too much) add a stealth-platformer section where you actually have to sneak your way into your chosen vantage point before you can line up your shot, like the sniper mission in CoD:4

At any rate, i like this game, well done ^^
